The Rail Trail

West Boylston is a small little town on the outskirts of Worcester. It's a pleasant community where everyone knows each other. Or at least some people say they do. There's plenty to do here if you have a good imagination. This year our town is celebrating its bicentennial and there will be loads of activities going on.

The Rail Trail is a trail over in the Oakdale section of West Boylston. It's a very popular destination to go for a walk or bike ride and get in touch with nature. It's very scenic and is a lovely way to spend your Sunday afternoon.

Entrance

Here is the railroad-style sign that greets you as you go up to the start of the Rail Trail.

Welcome

The Rail Trail kindly welcomes any walkers, bicyclists, wheelchairs, and even cross-country skiers.

Rail Trail

This sign designates that this is the West Boylston section of the Rail Trail. The trail itself stretches through several towns.

Walkway

Shown here is the beginning of the trail, with all the luscious green trees along the sides.

House

Over yonder is a waterhouse.

Stream

Here is a stream on the opposite shore of the waterhouse.

Overpass

A little over a mile in, a highway goes over the trail. If you look up, it's pretty cool.

Seat

This is my favorite seat on the trail. What's that you say? It doesn't look confortable? Well...you're right. But I still like it.

Resevoir

The trail follows along the resevoir for a bit, and then continues to follow streams coming out from it.

Information

Scattered throughout the trail are information markers that tell a little bit about the history of the trail.

Waterbushes

If you're willing to take some of the trails off the main path, you'll find some interesting scenery.

Rock Seat

Here, after you get back from your refreshing trek, you can sit here and rest.

Resevoir 2

Another shot of the resevoir.
