This is a gallery of student photographs in the Looking Through Our Lens project.
It showcases the many positive things teens do in their school and community.
 

In 2001, in the aftermath of September 11, the Kids Cope by Sharing Hope Project was started. There was an atmosphere of uncertainty and loss that affected the entire country. There was also a growing atmosphere of patriotism and pride. There was a sense of rebuilding and moving forward. Teenagers were coping with and trying to make sense of current events as much as adults. The Kids Cope by Sharing Hope Project goal was to showcase the positive things that teenagers were contributing to their community, not only in response to September 11, but in their everyday lives.

In December of 2009, after 9 years of photographic contributions to the gallery, it occurred to me that kids were doing more than coping, and the name no longer fit. The challenge was put out to the Visual Communications students to come up with a new name for the project that would more accurately portray what positive things teens were doing in their community. There was much debate and a couple of votes were needed to narrow it down.
Starting in January 2010, Teens Succeed  will be new title.
Topics range from community service to part time jobs to teens spending  leisure time in a positive way.
