Friends of Rachel started with a small group of students after seeing Rachel's Challenge at the school. Friends of Rachel is now a nation wide group that supports Rachel Scott's plan of equality in the schools. Rachel Scott was the first person killed in the Columbine High School shooting on April 20, 1999. Her family has now started a nonprofit organization that travels around the country in order to tell people Rachel's story. After Rachel's sister visited West Boylston High School, she spoke of a program that the students here could get involved with in order to give back. Friends of Rachel started when a small group of students came together in order to try and get more people involved in Rachel's Challenge and the changes she wanted to see in the world. "You may just start a chain reaction" - Rachel Scott
