The Visual Communications class took photographs to document our town and
school for the West Boylston Bicentennial Celebration in 2008.
The Visual Communications class also provided photographs that
the elementary school students used as a reference for a mosaic mural
project, located in the lobby of Major Edwards Elementary School.
Photographs
are from Fall 2007 through Winter 2008.
Here were the guidelines for the project:
-
Think
about historical places in West Boylston.
-
Think about which images best represent life in West
Boylston.
-
Think about what people who live here see and do.
-
Think about what
visitors to West Boylston see and do.
-
Think about the most
scenic places in West Boylston.
-
Photographs can be of
people doing activities or of physical spaces in and around the town.
-
Try to capture the seasons in WB.
-
Try to capture morning
or evening lighting for unique photographs.
-
Try to capture different weather conditions for unique
photographs
-
Photographs should not be limited to high school
activities. We want all age groups represented.
-
Capture activities to celebrate the
Bicentennial throughout the year.
-
Capture the activities during
Bicentennial weekend September 20-21.
Photographs were
chosen by quality of focus, lighting, color, subject matter, composition,
creativity and aesthetics.
