"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." (Pablo Picasso)

The National Art Honor Society meets Friday mornings before school twice a month at 6:50.

To be inducted in the NAHS, a student must maintain an 86 or better average and demonstrate characteristics of worthy character.

Every student inducted into the National Art Honor Society is inspired to think creatively and put their best effort into everything they do. They must contribute artistically to their community to make their world a better place. At West Boylston, we have high hopes for our NAHS members.

Purpose

New members recite a personally selected quote before lighting candles at the induction ceremony in April.

The purpose of this chapter shall be to:
insure and recognize those students who have shown outstanding ability in art.

  •  foster excellence and a dedicated spirit to the pursuit of art

  •  further creative abilities and talents of the Society's members, as well as the school's entire student art enrollment

  •  aid members in working toward the attainment of their highest potential in an art area

  •  bring art to the attention of  school and community

  •  increase an awareness of art in relation to other areas of the school curriculum

  •  further aesthetic awareness in all aspects of the school's total program
