This year the Teens Organized Against Drugs program spent a weekend (January 31- February 1, 2008) at the Coco Keys Water Resort in Fitchburg, MA. Students met in the lobby of the hotel around 11a.m., where they stored their belongings in a back room while they waited for their room keys. After checking in and storing their items, students received wristbands for unlimited access to the indoor water park. By 4:30 pm students were allowed to check into their rooms and freshen up. After this, a buffet-style dinner was given consisting of pasta, chicken fingers, quesadillas, french fries, and fresh fruit. The next day a continental breakfast was available in one of the hotels dining areas. After breakfast, students had to check out of their rooms by 10:30/11a.m., but had access to the water park until 2p.m. that afternoon. |
| The Coco Keys in Fitchburg is the second Coco Keys indoor water park in the Boston area. It is simulated as a sunny summer day where the air temperature is kept at a steady 84oF. The attractions include a lazy river, three slides (two with tubes, one without) and play areas for younger children. It also features a large hot tub that had both indoor and outdoor areas, and flat screen TVs constantly playing cartoons for smaller children.
